If 2021 was the year of the dunk Low, 2022 is definitely the year of the dunk High. We’re only four weeks into the new year and we’ve already seen a ton of new colourways get unveiled. From the CLOT collab to the “Year Of The Tiger”, we’re now checking out the mysterious Nike SB dunk High “Mineral Slate” which comes with an equally as mysterious backstory. Make sure you read on to find out more…

Featuring an all-suede construction, the “Mineral Slate” works on top of a stealthy black base while dark green panels embrace the heel, lacing system, and toebox. This peculiar hue really reminds us of the 4/20-inspired “Dog Walker” from 2019. A “Sail” Swoosh shoots across the lateral and medial side panels, and this is complemented by a crisp midsole underfoot that ties everything together.

As mentioned in the intro, the story behind this dunk is a little strange. According to Instagram account @nikesbornothing, it was originally going to be a mismatched pair with the palette flipped on opposite feet. This is a trend that a lot of brands have been doing lately and we kind of wish that Nike stuck to their original idea. This release will also feature Zoom Air technology which is printed on the insoles.

Set to drop sometime in March, the Nike SB dunk High “Mineral Slate” is a must-have especially with spring and summer coming just around the corner. let us know if you’ll be adding these to your collection later this year, and in related news, the upcoming Nike dunk High “White” is embellished with east Asian influences!
