The best Valentine’s Day Sneakers

StrangeLove x Nike SB dunk High “Pink” (2020)

In 2020, Sean Cliver teamed up with the Swoosh to release the StrangeLove x Nike SB dunk High “Pink”. one of the most special collaborations that the skateboarding silhouette has ever seen, it was dressed in nothing but the softest of velour and featured loads of cool features throughout. From the heart-shaped confetti embedded within the outsole to the skull graphic embroidered around the heel, this will go down in the history books as one of the most hyped dunk releases ever. While this isn’t an official V Day sneaker we think it should have the primary spot in this list.

Emotionally Unavailable x Nike Air force 1 High “Team Red” (2019)

Not only does Edison Chen run CLOT, he also own a little label called Emotionally Unavailable. In 2019, the Hong Kong-based multi-hyphenate turned to the Beaverton brand to release the Emotionally Unavailable x Nike Air force 1 High “Team Red”. Unlike anything we had seen before, this desired collaboration was dipped in a bright red color and injected with various cream tones throughout for a beautiful spot of contrast. Of course, you can’t talk about the EU Air force 1 without mentioning the textured Swoosh that shoots across the lateral and medial side panels.

Joe Freshgoods x new balance 992 “Pink” (2020)

Chicago native Joe Freshgoods has been making waves across the scene over the past few years, and one of his a lot of memorable drops has got to be the Joe Freshgoods x new balance 992 “Pink”. often called the “No emotions Are Emotions” or the “Anatomy of a Heart”, while neither of these things seem very Valentine’s Day-inspired, they actually released on that certain day. painted in a myriad of rouge tones, you can’t deny that this 992 is absolutely one of the most premium pairs on the market. That, paired with the fact that these only released through a pop-up shop in the windy City, results in a crazy special pair that every collector needs.

adidas Superstar Valentine’s Day “White” (2019)

2019 brought us the “Valentine’s Day” pack from the three stripes and included within this seductive selection was the adidas Superstar Valentine’s Day “White”. absolutely the best of the bunch, this minimalist masterpiece takes that classic Superstar design and injects a little bit of love into it. A gigantic heart graphic is underlaid by the famous three stripe branding, while luxe gold detailing throughout gives this shoe a premium look and feel. While this pair absolutely isn’t as wild and wacky as the others in this list, often it’s the heart that counts – pun absolutely intended.

Girls Don’t Cry x Nike SB dunk low “Varsity Red” (2019)

Long-time Swoosh collaborator Verdy teamed up with the Oregon gigantic in 2019 for the girls Don’t Cry x Nike SB dunk low “Varsity Red”, and while this friends and family pair is so limited to the point you might as well call them non-existent, you just can’t deny the sheer impact that these made to the sneaker game. This was in an era when Dunks still hadn’t made their triumphant return. with that said, this collab was enough to at least spark fiery interest within the community. It also came in another colourway as well so if these were a bit too wild for you then the grey pair might be a lot more your thing.

Nike Air force 1 love Letter “Tulip Pink” (2021)

In 2021 we saw the release of the Nike Air force 1 love Letter “Tulip Pink”. part of a broader V Day-themed capsule, this one is absolutely the most popular of the collection. arriving in generally romantic hues, the coolest thing about this AF1 is the secret letter that adorns the tongue. Secured with a single clip-on fastening, not lots of sneakerheads knew about this element until weeks after this pair dropped. As soon as news spread across the community these were snatched up within minutes. even though this is just a GR pair, you’ll still have to pay a pretty penny if you want a pair.

Air Jordan 4 Valentine’s Day “True Berry” (2019)

We love Jordans and we love Valentine’s Day, so colour us a little shocked when we found out that the Air Jordan 4 Valentine’s Day “True Berry” is just oneof the very few V-themed Jumpman sneakers to exist. In fact, this Air Jordan 4 wasn’t even made for adults as it was limited to just kids and toddlers. With all that said there’s no denying how cool these are, and if your little ones had these on-feet back in 2019 they absolutely had the sickest sneakers in town.

Nike SB dunk low Valentine’s Day “Gym Red” (2012)

While we’ve seen quite a few Valentine’s Dunks in the past few years, 2012’s Nike SB dunk low Valentine’s Day “Gym Red” is probably the hottest of them all. bearing a striking resemblance to the famous frame Skate x Nike SB dunk low “Habibi” that launched eight years later, these were crafted from some of the most luxurious leathers and suedes known to man. All this, coupled with a gum rubber outsole underfoot, and you’ve got a winner.

Nike Air force 1 Valentine’s Day “Varsity Red” (2006)

We’re throwing it all the way back to 2006 now as we take a look at Nike Air force 1 Valentine’s Day “Varsity Red”. one of Nike’s first Valentine’s Day-themed sneakers, this best patent leather pair splits the classic V Day palette into two, resulting in an impeccably colourblocked aesthetic that designers continue to strive for even all these years later.

adidas Stan Smith Valentine’s Day “Active Red” (2019)

And last but not least, we have the adidas Stan Smith Valentine’s Day “Active Red”. 2019 saw the German gigantic drop a massive amount of Valentine’s Day pairs, but this is absolutely one of the most sought-after ones from the drop. While other brands make patent leather look tacky, adidas have carried out it to a tee. Gone are the normally three stripe perforations on the side panels in favour of a single white heart graphic that we’ve absolutely fallen for.
